Helping one of God's creatures

Today in our RE lesson we had an unexpected visitor. A woodlouse was walking across our carpet. The children suggested that we look after it because it is one of God's creatures. So we looked in our investigation book about woodlice that we did in term 4 and we found that they like damp and dark places. We then rescued the woodlouse by putting it outside behind the big box where it is nice and dark and nice and damp.

Prayers of peace

This afternoon the children have changed St Francis' prayer of peace to make their own prayers. They are very thoughtful prayers.

Amazing calculation

In numeracy we have been learning column method this week. Today the children have been solving problems that involve carrying over the tens. Amazing! some children wanted to be given more questions for homework! If you want to make your own questions you can create the work sheets from The Maths Worksheet Site.com.

Heroes

As part of our Olympics topic we have been learning about heroes. Yesterday we discussed what makes a hero, such as being brave and determined. Today we had been inventing our own superheroes. They look great!
